Remodeling Contractor in Westmont, IL

Room remodels and wall changes, with the drywall and paint included.

Most of what goes wrong in a small remodel is coordination. The framing finishes on a Tuesday, the drywall crew can come in two weeks, the painter is booked for a month after that, and a three-week project turns into a season of living around it. We take on room remodels specifically because drywall and paint — the two trades that normally cause that wait — are ours, so the handoffs happen inside one schedule and one point of contact.

We remodel rooms for homeowners across Westmont, Downers Grove, Hinsdale, Darien, Burr Ridge, Oak Brook and the rest of our service area, and we handle refreshes for small offices and retail spaces. Scope varies more than it does for a paint job, so the estimate matters more: call us and describe what you want changed, and we will tell you plainly which parts we self-perform and which parts of your project belong to another trade.

Local Detail

Remodeling older homes in the western suburbs

DuPage and the near-west suburbs hold a deep stock of mid-century and older houses, and opening one up is rarely a surprise-free exercise. Plaster and lath behind the drywall, framing that is not on a modern layout, wiring and ductwork run through the wall you want gone, and floors that are no longer level all turn up regularly in Westmont, Downers Grove, Lombard and Lisle. None of it is unusual; what matters is that it is found and priced at the estimate rather than discovered as a change order.

Permits are the other local variable. Westmont, Downers Grove, Hinsdale, Naperville and other villages around here require contractor registration and permits for remodeling work, and each one draws the line in a slightly different place. We will walk you through what your village expects for your project before any work is scheduled, so the inspection is not the first time anybody thinks about it.

Our Process

How a remodel runs

  1. Scope it honestly

We walk the space, talk through what you want and look for what is behind the walls. You get a written scope that says what is included and what is not.

  2. Sequence and protect

A schedule in the right order, with the rest of your house protected — floors covered, openings sealed, a path in and out that is not through your living room.

  3. Build, board, finish

Framing changes, then drywall hung, taped and sanded, then trim and doors. Because it is one crew, each stage starts when the last one is ready rather than when a subcontractor has an opening.

  4. Paint and hand over

Primer and finish coats, hardware on, site cleaned and debris gone, then a walkthrough with you before the final invoice.

FAQ

Remodeling questions

Straight answers, including the ones where the honest answer is 'it depends'.
What counts as remodeling for you?
Interior room remodels and the work around them — wall changes, framing, drywall, trim, doors and paint. Describe your project when you call and we will tell you exactly which parts are ours. We would rather turn work down than take on something outside what we do well.
Do you pull permits?
Permit and contractor-registration rules differ by village around here, and remodeling work commonly requires both. Call (779) 939-9711 with the details of your project and we will go over what your town requires and how it affects the schedule before work starts.
Can I live in the house while the work happens?
For a single-room remodel, usually. We seal the work area, protect the route in and out and clean down daily. The sanding stage is the dusty one, and we will tell you in advance which days those are.
Why hire one crew instead of separate trades?
Mostly time, and partly accountability. Drywall and paint are the two stages that create the longest waits in a small remodel, and when they belong to the same crew there is no scheduling gap between them — and nobody to blame for a patch that shows through the topcoat.
